Iced Houjicha Latte

Quick and super tasty Iced Houjicha Latte with Chocolate Almond Milk. I loves blending it with chocolate almond milk with a splash of date syrup. The roasted flavor of the houjicha goes so well with the chocolate flavor, but feel free to blend with your choice of milk. The experience even enhances with these hand-made Glass Katakuchi Serving Bowl and Cloud Glass Tea Cups from Shiga, Japan.

Iced Matcha Latte

This is absolutely my go-to drink to refresh and relax at the same time on a warm day. In the summertime, I actually make this every day after I come back home from work and enjoy in the kitchen during prepping for dinner. I normally make it with unsweetened almond milk, but you can make it with soymilk, whole milk, or any choice of milk. The matcha I use is a premium quality and I use a generous amount of it, so I hope you try this recipe and find how upgraded this drink tastes compared to commercial matcha drinks.

Watermelon & Yuzu Cocktail (Virgin or with Alcohol)

Summer in LA is quite hot, and this super simple watermelon & yuzu beverage is a perfect seasonal drink to make me feel so refreshed. It’s all natural (just watermelon, yuzu juice, and mint), takes no time to prepare, and is always so tasty. When I serve this as an aperitif in the evening, I like to add a splash of shochu (Japan spirit) or some Champagne.

Japanese Plum Liqueur

Ume-Shu

Ume-shu is a traditional Japanese plum liqueur and one of the most popular alcoholic drinks to make at home in Japan. My late mother used to make a few large batches when plums were in season (May – June) every year, and now I’m taking over the tradition in my home in LA. She used to sip it o the rocks after dinner (or sometimes before dinner). I like it on the rocks or sometimes enjoy it mixed with sparkling water. Rich in vitamins, minerals,, and citric acid, ume-shu is also known for its health benefits. A small glass of ume-shu every day can help remove fatigue from your body and rejuvenate it.

Japanese Kumquat Liqueur

Kinkan-shu

Bright and sweet-tangy ripe kumquat makes the beautiful liqueur in very easy steps. All you need is the patience, as once the ingredients are assembled, it takes several months for it to be ready to drink.
