Simply Donabe Edition Kamado-san is officially sold out. Thank you so much to everyone who welcomed this into their kitchen. We’ve been overwhelmed by the enormous response since its release this past spring and with hundreds of units sold so quickly.

This one was very special from the start, as the Simply Donabe Kamado-san was personally developed by mrsdonabe in collaboration with Nagatani-en in Iga, with an exclusive glaze created just for this release.

We are currently working with Nagatani-en on the possibility of bringing more units back next year, so stay tuned.

We continue to offer autographed copies of the Simply Donabe cookbook. The book is full of delicious donabe recipes and inspiration.

Summer corn is at its sweetest right now, and we are celebrating by showcasing a few different recipes to demonstrate just how versatile it can be when prepared with a donabe. 🌽

mrsdonabe’s Corn Milk Soup is a sweet velvety broth that is so satisfying and nourishing. We love making this using either a unique-style donabe like the Miso-shiru Nabe or a classic-style donabe like the Bistro Donabe.

Corn tofu is a beautiful way to experience corn in a refined way that is silky, subtly sweet, and completely unexpected. For this, we recommend using a classic-style donabe like the Ame-Yu and Hakeme or a rectangular mold. Find this recipe in the Simply Donabe cookbook by mrsdonabe.

Steamed in the Mushi Nabe, corn comes out tender and naturally sweet as the donabe steamer preserves every bit of flavor and nutrition for the most satisfying bite.

Corn bacon rice made in the Kamado-san is fluffy, fragrant, and a savory summer staple that is as easy as it is delicious.

We love spending this time of year grilling al fresco with friends, everyone gathered around the table with our Iga-yaki earthenware grill, the Yaki Yaki San.

What makes this grill unique is part of its stunning design: fill the outer reservoir with water, and it becomes a built-in drip pan. Excess fat drains through the gaps of the slightly inclined grate, keeping smoke to a minimum and grease from hitting the flame directly.

With Ibushi Gin, smoking is easy (basically smoke-free) in the kitchen. It’s designed specifically for smoking (the only way she uses hers), and it traps the smoke aroma beautifully.

Smoked salmon and eggs over fresh donabe rice is my absolute standard and never gets old. Naoko also shows two recipes built around these ingredients.

Naoko used walnut smoke chips this time, but sakura works great with salmon too.
